Advisory Counsel Preliminary Minutes

Magalia-Pines Family Practice Medical Clinic

TIME:   Complementary lunch: 12:00 – 12:15

              Meeting Time: 12:15 - 13:00

 

Members: Lijun Sakal, M.D (Medical Director), Don Sakal, PA-C (CEO/Chair), Mary Ricca (Medical Receptionist), Steve Unfug (Community Member representing Medicare/Medi-Cal).  Guests: Edwin and Lanhau Bingham (represent uninsured community/previous Magalia transport business) and Jeanette Sakal.

 

 

Minutes:

 

Don Sakal, MS, PA-C opened the meeting introducing all Counsel members and guest to one the other.

 

Don explained again that the Advisory Counsel guides the MPFPMC to better meet the community's healthcare needs.  Meetings are the second Tuesday of every other month.  Counsel recommendations must work within the MPFPMC budget.

 

Don reminded members that Counsel is mandatory via CMS-RHC guidelines and that if anyone isn’t interested in improving medical services to the community then they should resign their chair. 

 

All members signed the last meeting minutes: as attendance to past meeting, and as minutes approval and as attendance of today’s meeting.

 

Don handed out some materials for meeting and asked for all to be returned to him and reminded all members and guest about business confidentiality.

Patient Surveys:

Over 99% of all surveys were good, very good or excellent, therefore, analysis had to be done based on excellence to better reveal any need for improvement.
